My Underwear is Wet, but I Feel Okaaaaaaaaay!

With Jen on maternity leave until the end of August and Stephen living the cush lifestyle of a school counselor (also off until the end of August), the fam is enjoying a lot of together time. Which is awesome! Except that we have a 3.5 year old and being stuck in the house all day with a 3.5 year old is...Well, it's not good, man. If shit ever gets real and you find yourself needing an extended stay in a bomb shelter, I hope you don't have a 3.5 year old. Because you probably can't even get Dora the Explorer in there and then God help you all.

This is to say we're planning on lots of preschooler-friendly activities over the next 2.5 months. A happy Lucy is a happy family.

We kicked off our Summer of Love with a visit to our favorite neighborhood park. Just under a mile walk from our house in Ballard, Golden Gardens is one of Seattle's most popular beaches. It was gorgeous out today and Lu had an absolute blast at the play area and then splashing in the water. We are so lucky to live where we do.

I'm going to get my whole body in the water!
(Lucy believes in living with a clear sense of purpose)

It's pretty cold!
(she is also kind of a wuss)

Hey! My shorts got in the water!
Cue another original Lucy tune: My underwear is wet but I feel okaaaaaaaay!

(I sadly missed capturing the big jazz hands finish)

I'm not getting out of the water. Ever. Because staying in here is what I want to do and that's just how it works. Sound good?

Three year olds. They are the best.

Ella didn't do anything very interesting today but we forgive her because she's a baby (7 weeks tomorrow!). So...here's a picture of her feet.

  1. This is the best things the Internet tubes have ever produced. Al Gore had no idea how perfect the little Tullis-Russell's would be, but Lordy am I thankful that he trained gerbils to transmit their images.

Personal plea from the sweaty DC, blog often and with wreckless abandon.

    Love,
